The atmosphere upon entering was living and inviting which made me optimistic. I came with my sister and we sat ourselves down. Ordering was fine but I had an humita which I asked to be sweet. It was salty and my sister ate it with me and confirmed it to be salty. I asked the waitress and she said it was sweet and then proceeded to give us an attitude afterwards about the situation. We decided to eat it because it was $6 and since the waitress was becoming visibly annoyed we said nothing and hoped for the best of our meal. We both got churasco meals. I ate a majority of mine which was decent but nearing the end of my sister eating their meal, she found a plastic part in their rice. She felt it and I felt it and it was for sure plastic. We called our waitress over who was visibly annoyed. She took the piece, went to another waitress and gaslit us saying the piece was not plastic. We felt it and she had already chewed into it, we knew what it was. She went to another waitress and whispered to them and came back to offer us more food. We didn’t want food we could no longer trust. I asked for a discount on the bill since my sister refused to eat the rest of their food and they only took off the drinks which was a canned soda and a water bottle. I get that their job can be stressful but there really was no need for the attitude when we were already being as nice as possible. Highly dissapointed.

The waitress greeted me kindly and let me sit by the window — a perfect spot to relax after walking nearly 10 miles that day. 2.0 Food Quality – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) 2.1 Dish Ordered I went with a recommendation from the waitress: Llapingacho (~$19, slightly less with cash payment). Guanaba (soursop juice water) 2.2 Taste & Presentation The plate was massive, colorful, and full of flavor. It had avocado, lettuce, and a variety of ingredients that created a balanced and satisfying meal. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned The plate felt like real home cooking, not commercialized Food matched the high expectations set by menu photos and online images 2.3 Value The portion and flavor fully justified the price. While I’m a patient person, after 30 minutes, a quick reassurance from the staff would’ve made a big difference. I noticed other tables being served and began to wonder about the delay. While I understood the context of the area, it was a brief interruption that might bother some diners. Not the restaurant’s fault, but something to be aware of. 4.3 Accessibility Parking is limited, so if you’re driving, be prepared for a challenge Best to walk or take the train, which is easy given the location 5.0 Final Thoughts – ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5 Overall) This is the kind of place I’ll definitely return to. The food was incredible, the vibe was warm, and while the service had its delay, it wasn’t enough to turn me away.
